“Danube II – Bucharest to Budapest” October 20 ~ 27, 2018 An 8-day, 7-night cruise on the Danube River

~ Pre-Cruise – Optional ~
October 17 to 20, 2018 City tours in Bucharest and Brasov CT Family Cocktail Party Tour Peles Castle Tour Dracula’s Castle Our first adventure on this historic river was noted to be the most majestic and popular. In the fall of 2018, we continued the adventure down the Danube, but this time, the plan was to fly into Bucharest, Romania, sailing from the city/port of Giurgiu to Budapest, Hungary, where we ended our last Danube Adventure. This time, we intended to start closer to the Black Sea. Plus, a 3-night pre-cruise hotel/tour package was offered, including 2 nights in Bucharest, and then we continued to Transylvania, where we stayed in the town of Brasov, near to Bran Castle, more known as Dracula’s Castle. En route we explored Peles Castle, considered to be one of the most stunning castles in Europe. To continue after our cruise adventure Cruise Trekkers could take in either amazing Budapest or the absolute beauty of Vienna. For both pre and post cruise packages, daily breakfast was included as were transfers to each hotel.
~ Post-Cruise – Optional ~
October 27 to 29, 2018 Budapest and/or Vienna City tours of Budapest and/or Vienna And some members of the Cruise Trek family sailed a Trans-Atlantic cruise back to Fort Lauderdale. Additional to the amazing itinerary possibilities, special highlights and advantages of this Cruise Trek adventure; all included a professionally-trained tour guide to accompany us throughout, local entertainment, music performances, lectures, cooking demonstrations, and theme dinners. Plus, on board a river cruise, and included in the cruise fare are pre dinner “Sip & Sail” hours, wine, beer & soft drinks with lunch and dinner, Wi-Fi service, bottled water (replenished daily), bicycle use, and almost all shore excursions. Some excursions were private for our Cruise Trek Family.
~ Trans-Atlantic Cruise – Optional ~
October 28 to November 11, 2018 Rome, Italy, to Fort Lauderdale, Florida 3 Spanish ports 1 Portuguese port River cruises are inherently changeable due to weather, port or other reasons, so tours and Itinerary are subject to change. And that was certainly true in this case! Drought conditions left the lower Danube River too low for the AmaCerto to leave from Bucharest. AMA Waterways re-routed the journey and flew Cruise Trek family members from Bucharest to Vienna for a round-trip cruise leaving from Vienna, Austria. But with plenty of Cruise Trek Family members on-board, all was good. And the adventure continued. Among the highlights of the cruise ~
